Royal (concussion) took part in practice Saturday, Jeff Dickerson of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis:
The concussion protocol has been Royal's home for the bulk of training camp and the preseason slate, but he's progressed from work on the side before Thursday's preseason game in New England to Saturday's appearance in practice. Although his activity level is unknown, he has clearly taken a step in the right direction in his quest to be cleared of symptoms.
