Chargers' Travis Benjamin: Takes part in first preseason game

Benjamin recorded one catch for 11 yards, as well as one carry for negative five yards in his preseason debut against on the Cardinals on Friday.

Analysis:

An offseason addition by way of the Browns, Benjamin has played sparingly during training camp thanks to a nagging hamstring injury. While he didn't factor in much on offense Friday, the 26-year-old still figures to bring a dynamic element to a passing attack that also features Keenan Allen and the seemingly immortal Antonio Gates. Now firmly entrenched as the No. 2 starting WR with Stevie Johnson (knee) done for the season, Benjamin could improve upon his 2015 numbers (68 catches, 966 yards and five touchdowns) in an explosive passing attack that has seen QB Philip Rivers record three straight seasons in which he has thrown for over 4,000 yards.
