Cardinals' Arians 'pissed' after preseason loss to Chargers

Preseason games may not be about wins and losses, but there weren't many positives for Bruce Arians to draw from his team's performance Friday.

Recovered from the health issues that sent him to the hospital earlier in the week, the Arizona Cardinals head coach was admittedly disappointed following a 19-3 defeat at the hands of the San Diego Chargers.

"I'm fine," Arians said, according to the team's official website. "Just pissed."

The struggles started early for a typically dominant Cardinals offense. Quarterback Carson Palmer completed just four of eight passes, with the lowlight coming on an ugly screen-pass interception.

"We'll go back to work," Arians added. "That's why you play the preseason. These don't count other than you find out a lot about yourself."

Arizona will enter the 2016 campaign as a Super Bowl favorite regardless of its performance in exhibition games, but Arians and his staff will be looking for some improvement next week.

The third preseason game typically serves as the dress rehearsal for the year ahead, as starters see their most significant work before again taking on limited roles the following week.
