Cowboys' Tony Romo: Solid in first taste of game action

Romo (collarbone) made a successful return to game action in Friday's 41-14 preseason victory over the Dolphins, going 4-for-5 for 49 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions.

Analysis:

The veteran stepped onto the field for the first time in 2016 and provided an efficient performance after the offense got off to a rough start with three holding penalties in the first five plays. Romo was 3-for-3 on his second and final drive on the strength of connections with Dez Bryant and Jason Witten, before Alfred Morris culminated the downfield march with a 15-yard touchdown run. The 36-year-old QB even took a hit and got up no worse for wear, a necessary rite of passage for him coming off his collarbone injury. Romo appears set for more extensive action in the Cowboys' regular season dress rehearsal game against the Seahawks next Thursday.
