Cowboys' Dez Bryant: Excels in sole possession Saturday

Bryant (heel) made the start in Saturday's 28-24 preseason loss to the Rams despite initially not being expected to play and grabbed two passes for 28 yards and a touchdown.

Analysis:

The All-Pro made a surprise appearance in the starting lineup and showed up in impressive fashion on his sole possession. Bryant made a leaping grap for a first down on the left sideline over cornerback Coty Sensabaugh on his initial catch, and then came back with a 10-yard beauty of a touchdown catch by the left pylon where he effectively boxed out Sensabaugh and fell back into the end zone on top of him. The Cowboys' No. 1 receiver looked to be in fine form after a forgettable 2015 and demonstrated good chemistry with rookie Dak Prescott, who got the start in place of the resting Tony Romo. Bryant will now look to put together a similarly successful encore when he has an opportunity to play with Tony Romo as early as next week.
