As the Los Angeles Rams are set to bring football back to Hollywood on Saturday night, the Dallas Cowboys' stars won't be on the field.

Quarterback Tony Romo, receiver Dez Bryant, tight end Jason Witten, left tackle Tyron Smith, and rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott will watch their team's first preseason action from the sidelines, according to ESPN's Todd Archer.

For Romo, Bryant, and Witten, it's an annual tradition to rest for the first exhibition game, having done so the past four seasons. Smith is also sitting for rest reasons.

Elliott has been sidelined due to a sore hamstring, which isn't expected to be serious.

Rookie Dak Prescott will start at quarterback in Romo's absence.
