Cardinals' Tyrann Mathieu: May ramp up activity next week

Head coach Bruce Arians expressed hope on Sirius XM Radio on Wednesday that Mathieu (knee) takes part in next week's intrasquad scrimmages with the Chargers.

In advance of the Cardinals' second preseason game in San Diego on Friday, Aug. 19, the teams will face each other in a pair of joint practices. Mathieu's potential appearance with his teammates lines up with his proposed first practice by Arians from early August. However, how Mathieu progresses through the rest of the preseason will determine whether he's set to take the field in Week 1.
