Murray: Mariota's release 'the fastest I've ever seen

Logan Bowles-USA TODAY Sports

Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota exhibited many strengths during his first season in the league, from his veteran-like decision making to his otherworldly athleticism.

But running back DeMarco Murray, who joined the Titans this offseason, believes Mariota has one outstanding trait that stands above the rest.

"I just think it's his release," Murray said, according to Chris Wesseling of NFL.com. "His release is by far the fastest I've ever seen."

Seeing as Murray spent four seasons watching Tony Romo, who's known for having one of the league's quickest releases, zip out passes from the backfield, it's high praise.

Murray continued to compliment Mariota, saying that while the second-year passer may not be the most vocal leader, he commands the respect of the locker room whenever he speaks.

The running back also called Mariota "probably the hardest working quarterback" he's ever been around.
