Rams haven't heard from Tre Mason in 7 months

The Los Angeles Rams are becoming increasingly concerned about running back Tre Mason as they haven't heard from the third-year pro in seven months, according to Dan Graziano and Adam Caplan of ESPN.

Rams officials informed them Tuesday that they have made several attempts to contact Mason since he was charged with reckless driving, marijuana possession, and resisting arrest in March, but have not received any details about his condition or whereabouts.

Those same officials added that Mason has changed his cellphone number on multiple occasions this offseason.

Mason was excused from OTAs in the spring due to his legal issues, but failed to show up to the team's training camp at the end of July and was placed on the Rams' reserve/did not report list.

"I haven't personally spoken to Tre since the season ended when we had the checkout physicals," Rams head coach Jeff Fisher said after the team's first practice on Saturday. "I tried numerous times after the incident to reach him and I was unsuccessful.

"Right now, we're more concerned with Tre Mason's well-being than we are his football career. We're going to continue to try to reach him to see where he's at."

Mason was tasered and arrested by police in Hollywood, Fla., on March 5. He pleaded not guilty to reckless driving in April after missing his arraignment date earlier the same week.

Mason was supplanted by Rookie of the Year Todd Gurley as the team's lead running back last season.
