Anthony Davis reinstated, will reportedly attend 49ers camp

Former first-round pick Anthony Davis, who sat out the 2015 season, has been reinstated from the reserve/retired list by the NFL, the San Francisco 49ers announced Saturday.

Davis is planning to report to the San Francisco 49ers' training camp on Saturday, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The offensive tackle retired last year due to long-term healthy concerns, but expressed his desire to return to football this offseason. He announced Monday that he'd officially applied to the NFL for reinstatement.

Davis would arguably become the most talented right tackle on the roster, but would have to fight Erik Pears to regain his starting spot.

To make room for Davis on the roster, the 49ers placed defensive tackle Ian Williams on the reserve/non-football injury list, ending his season.
