Buccaneers' Keith Tandy: Makes defensive play of the day in Friday's practice

Tandy turned in what head coach Dirk Koetter called the "play of the day" with a spectacular pass deflection Friday, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Analysis:

The fifth-year defensive back, currently slotted behind Bradley McDougald on the strong safety depth chart, knocked down a Mike Glennon deep pass intended for Adam Humphries. The latter had gotten wide open on a double move on cornerback Johnthan Banks, but Tandy was able to get on his horse and hustle over from the middle of the field to deflect the ball. "That was a great play by Tandy," Koetter said. "That ball was about 50 yards down the field. For Tandy to show that range, that's unusual for an NFL safety to overlap and make that play so that was a really nice play."
