Fitzpatrick can't get haircut because someone wrote about his barbershop

New York Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick arrived at training camp Thursday sporting a shaggy new hairstyle, which apparently isn't by choice.

Fitzpatrick explained to reporters that he had to stop going to his barbershop after Steve Serby of the New York Post wrote a story about it.

"Somebody wrote an article about my barbershop a couple of months ago, so I couldn't go back to the barbershop, you know," he said. "I've been trying to avoid the media and stay in my cave."

In the article, which was published during Fitzpatrick's contractual standoff with the Jets, Serby visited some of the quarterback's favorite spots in Chatham, N.J., in the hopes that he might run into him.

Serby feels bad about keeping Fitzpatrick from his barber, so he's offered to pick up the tab for his next haircut.
