Dolphins' Jordan reinstated from suspension on conditional basis

The NFL announced Friday that Miami Dolphins defensive end Dion Jordan has been reinstated from suspension on a conditional basis.

Jordan, who received a one-year ban last spring after a third substance abuse violation, will be permitted to take part in all training camp and preseason work.

The condition is that he'll need to meet again with the league prior to Week 1 to review his progress. Barring any sort of setback, he'll presumably then be cleared for his first regular-season action since 2014.

Jordan was unable to make much of an impact after joining the Dolphins as the third overall pick in 2013, but a new regime will certainly give him the opportunity to make good on his potential moving forward.

The 26-year-old finally emerging as a productive pass-rusher would further bolster what is already one of the NFL's most dominant defensive fronts.
