Could Tyrod Taylor be the next quarterback to cash in?

Entrenched as the Buffalo Bills' starter following a breakout 2015 season, Taylor and team representatives are discussing a long-term extension as training camp gets underway, a source told Vic Carucci of The Buffalo News.

The source said the two sides are talking "relatively frequently," and wouldn't rule out the possibility of a deal being reached before Week 1.

Taylor is heading into a contract year set to earn just $3.133 million. That number is certainly attractive to the Bills, but locking him up well before he can hit the open market is likely the sensible move.

While a repeat performance would give Buffalo excellent value at that incredibly low price tag, it would also drive the 26-year-old's price through the roof next spring.

Taylor started 14 games in his first season with the Bills last year, completing 63.7 percent of his passes for 3,035 passing yards, 20 touchdowns, and just six interceptions. His athletic ability was also on full display as a ball carrier - he took 104 carries for 568 yards and another four scores on the ground.
