Buccaneers' Mike Evans: Worked to prevent soft tissue injuries in offseason

Evans, who is trying to come back from what he describes as a "down year" in 2015, engaged in specific training this offseason to help reduce the chances of soft tissue injuries, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports.

Analysis:

The third-year wideout led the NFL in drops in 2015, and comes in to the new season determined to be much more consistent in his role as the Bucs' clear-cut No. 1 wideout. In his opening training camp press conference, Evans also emphasized that part of his training regimen this offseason included early morning hamstring workouts designed to prevent the soft-tissue injuries that so often plague receivers. The Texas A & M product knows the feeling first-hand, suffering a hamstring pull against the Bengals in Tampa's second preseason game last year that kept him out of action until Week 2 of the regular season.
