Long hasn't passed Ravens physical, will see knee specialist

The Baltimore Ravens have sent offensive tackle Jake Long to have his knee examined by knee specalist Dr. James Andrews amid his ongoing physical, the team announced Wednesday.

Long was reportedly set to be signed by the Ravens on Tuesday, but can not officially join the team before passing a physical.

Dr. Andrews has operated on Long's knee twice before - he suffered two ACL tears in 2014.

The Ravens are still optimistic that they can sign Long, reports Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun. Long, the 2008 first-overall pick, spent last season with the Atlanta Falcons, appearing in four games with no starts.

The 31-year-old would likely be used as a backup tackle in the Ravens lineup if he can pass his physical.
