Cleveland Browns tight end Gary Barnidge has been medically cleared for training camp after undergoing sports hernia surgery in early June, Mary-Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reports.

Cabot includes that, while he passed his physical, Barnidge could be limited early in Browns training camp.

The 30-year-old was a breakout star for the Browns last season, catching 79 passes for 1,043 yards and nine touchdowns.

He will likely be the team's most trusted pass catcher again this season with a young, relatively-unproven group of wide receivers.
