Redskins' Jamison Crowder: Still expected to play in three-wide sets

The Redskins want to keep Crowder on the field in three-wide formations, ESPN's Mike Clay reports.

Analysis:

A 2015 fourth-round selection, Crowder primarily worked out of the slot as a rookie, catching 59 passes for 604 yards and two touchdowns on 79 targets. Despite putting together an efficient first season, Crowder's role came into some question after the Redskins used their first-round pick on WR Josh Doctson, who joins Crowder, DeSean Jackson, Pierre Garcon and TE Jordan Reed to form one of the league's deeper receiving corps. While Doctson can't be ruled out as a threat to take snaps away from Crowder, the rookie might actually present more of a challenge to Jackson and/or Garcon on the outside.
