Packers' Jared Cook: Placed on PUP list

Cook (foot) has been placed on the Packers' physically unable to perform list for the start of training camp, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

Analysis:

Cook is likely on the PUP list due to foot surgery he had in June. The tight end said he was fully healthy but was likely exaggerating, and now that Green Bay's medical staff has checked him out, it's clear he needs some more time to recover. It's not clear how long it'll take him to return, but look for Richard Rodgers to see a bulk of the first-team reps as long as Cook is kept out.
