Darnell Dockett, one of the more outspoken players in Arizona Cardinals history, retired with the team Monday.

The defensive lineman spent the first 10 years of his career in the desert. He attended three Pro Bowls and retires with the 13th-most tackles in team history with 349 and seventh-most sacks with 40.5.

"I will forever be a Cardinal," Dockett said at his retirement press conference, according to the team's website. "Even though I am not on the team and I'm retired, I can promise you one thing - I care more about Arizona winning than probably a lot of guys in the locker room.

"Last year, when they lost (in the NFC Championship), it hurt me to the point I was devastated."

Dockett appeared in 158 career games with the Cardinals, starting in 156. He suffered a torn ACL in training camp leading into the 2014 season and spent the year on injured reserve. He was later released and signed with the rival San Francisco 49ers, but was cut by the team in the preseason.

"I don't sit back and regret anything that I've done, regret the decisions I made," Dockett said. "I'm never going to talk about the other team that I went to, because my heart was never there. If you really knew me, my heart was never there, and everybody knew that. This is where I belong."

Whether he was live-tweeting from court, DMing the girlfriend of a certain national championship-winning quarterback, or trolling Oakland Raiders fans, Dockett was an endless source of entertainment.

"There are heroes, there are villains, and then there's Dockett," former Cardinals teammate Adrian Wilson said after attending his friend's final press conference.
