New England Patriots safety Nate Ebner will hit the field in Rio today as a member of the U.S. rugby sevens squad.

While Ebner will serve as the NFL's lone representative in Rio, he's not the only player in the league with the talent to go for gold.

Here are three other NFLers with the skill set to join Ebner in Rio.

Marquise Goodwin

Sport: Long jump | Age: 25

Goodwin represented the United States in the long jump in London in 2012, finishing in 10th place. He failed to qualify for Rio despite arriving at the U.S. track trials with two jumps to his name this year that would have been long enough to have won gold in 2012.

Robert Griffin III

Sport: Hurdles | Age: 26

Griffin was invited to compete for a spot on the team that would represent the United States in Beijing in 2008 as an 18-year-old. Had he not been selected second overall in the 2012 NFL Draft and spent his summer at training camp with the Washington Redskins, he could very well have been competing in London. Griffin's personal best time in the 110-meter hurdles would have been good enough to make the U.S. team and earn himself a trip to London that year.

Lawrence Okoye

Sport: Discus throw | Age: 24

Since representing Great Britain in the discus throw in London in 2012, Okoye's shifted his focus to his football career. In London, he reached the final of the competition with a throw of 65.28 meters. Okoye is the current British record holder with a toss of 68.24 meters.
