Report: Jets send Ryan Fitzpatrick multiple contract offers

Greg M. Cooper / USA TODAY Sports

The New York Jets are done playing chicken with Ryan Fitzpatrick.

With Jets' training camp set to open in two days, the team has given the disgruntled quarterback multiple contract offers to choose from, according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.

The Jets and Fitzpatrick have spent the majority of the offseason wrangling over contract terms and length. The veteran quarterback - now on his sixth team - sought more security while, evidently, the Jets weren't prepared to bet the farm on the 33-year-old.

Fitzpatrick set career highs last season, his first in New York, with 3,905 passing yards and 31 touchdowns, but, with a chance to lead the Jets to the postseason, he fizzled in spectacular fashion in a win-and-you're-in Week 17 loss to the Buffalo Bills.

The last offer reported to be on the table from the Jets was a three-year deal worth $24 million, one that Fitzpatrick reportedly disapproved of.
