Lions' Pettigrew, Fuller, Robinson to begin training camp on PUP list

Mike DiNovo / USA TODAY Sports

The Detroit Lions will be without three veterans when training camp opens Thursday.

Tight end Brandon Pettigrew, wide receiver Corey Fuller, and offensive tackle Corey Robinson have all been placed on the physically unable to perform list, the club announced Sunday.

These players will be unable to participate in practice during training camp until removed from the list, but that can be done at any point in the preseason.

Pettigrew was always unlikely to be healthy in time for the start of camp after tearing his ACL in December. Fuller missed minicamp in June with a foot injury, and Robinson missed some of the team's offseason workouts for undisclosed reasons.

Running back Ameer Abdullah, who underwent shoulder surgery this offseason, was the notable absence from the list, meaning he'll likely be ready to go for the start of camp.
