Bears place Nate Chandler on reserve/retired list

Jeremy Brevard / USA TODAY Sports

The Chicago Bears have placed offensive tackle Nate Chandler on the reserve/retired list, the team announced in a press release Saturday.

Chandler was signed by the Bears in June after being released by the Carolina Panthers in March.

The 27-year-old missed the entire 2015 season after being placed on injured reserve with a knee injury. He also finished the 2014 season on IR with a knee injury after starting 11 games at offensive tackle for Carolina.

Chandler wasn't expected to have a guaranteed roster spot and would have likely been used as a reserve offensive lineman for Chicago next season.
