There are few owners more involved in the operations of their own team than Cincinnati Bengals boss Mike Brown, and head coach Marvin Lewis wouldn't have it any other way.

Brown pulls triple duty for his team, serving as the owner, president, and general manager. While many owners have primarily stayed out of their team's football operations, Lewis and Brown have managed to create a successful working environment.

"I've had a great relationship with Mike," Lewis, entering his 14th season as Bengals coach, told SiriusXM NFL radio on Friday. "We talk literally every day, even when I'm here. This morning at 5:30, I'm speaking with him on the phone. We're talking about things to get done in the next two days and so forth."

Brown has been involved in football operations prior to taking over ownership from his father. He's grown up with the Bengals and has hired several members of his family to team positions. Lewis says that the team is truly all Brown cares about.

"I work for a person who all he cares about is the Cincinnati Bengals. He has no other interests," said Lewis. "He doesn't take a vacation. He's there during the season, seven days a week. He's six days a week now. That's all he does and that's what's important on his mind each and every day. And he goes down his list each and every day, we go down the list with me and we just talk about whatever. And it's great."
