Cornerback Charles Tillman has signed a one-day contract with the Chicago Bears in order to officially retire as a member of the franchise, the club announced Friday.

On Monday, Tillman announced his decision to walk away from the NFL in a YouTube video, which featured him "Peanut Punching" things out of people's hands in everyday life.

The two-time Pro Bowler spent 12 of his 13 seasons with the Bears, finishing his playing career with the Carolina Panthers in 2015.

Tillman revealed in a press conference that the first step in his post-football career will be joining the FOX pregame show in the fall. When asked if he was also considering a move into coaching, Tillman's response was succinct:

"Absolutely not," Tillman replied.

The veteran thanked the Bears organization and fans, and his former teammates for the support he received throughout his career.

"I'm just glad to have my name associated with greatness," he said.
