The contract standoff between the Buffalo Bills and star cornerback Stephon Gilmore seems to have no end in sight.

Gilmore is set to play out the final year of his rookie contract as talks with the Bills have failed to progress, reports NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The 25-year-old skipped OTAs to force negotiations forward, but the Bills reportedly have no intention of rewarding him with an extension that would place him among the highest-paid players at his position.

Gilmore attended the club's minicamp and has given little indication he'll stay away from training camp, which is set to begin July 29.

If the two parties cannot agree to an extension mid-season, Gilmore could be a prime candidate for the Bills' franchise tag in 2017.
