Beckham says Peterson is league's top cornerback

Odell Beckham Jr. has nothing but respect for fellow former LSU Tiger Patrick Peterson.

While Beckham has yet to face off with Peterson in his short career, the one-handed catch specialist says the Arizona Cardinals defender is the league's best at his position.

"I think the best cornerback in the league, I haven't got the experience of playing against - Patrick Peterson," Beckham told Sky Sports on Tuesday. "I remember in my rookie year, we (played against) him in Week 2, but I was injured. I just could never get back on the field, I was trying to rush back to play him because this is the man. You obviously always want to go against the best, always.

"In my eyes, he's the best corner in the league."

The two just missed each other in college at Baton Rouge, with Peterson leaving for the 2011 NFL Draft just as Beckham was beginning his freshman season.

Peterson and Beckham have both made the Pro Bowl in each of their NFL seasons so far, with the Cardinals corner scooping up three First-Team All-Pro honors in five seasons.

The comment could be construed as another shot at Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman, who Beckham recently said is only relevant "because of me."
