Report: Goodell, Gordon met to discuss possible reinstatement

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and suspended Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon met Wednesday to discuss Gordon's possible reinstatement, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.

Gordon, who was suspended indefinitely in February 2015 for repeated violations of the NFL's substance abuse policy, can apply for reinstatement on Aug. 1.

Gordon previously applied for reinstatement this spring, but was denied in April after a drug sample he provided the league was reportedly found to be diluted. Gordon was permitted to apply again after 60-90 days provided his samples remain clean.

After leading the NFL with 1,646 yards receiving in 2013, off-field issues have limited Gordon to just five games played over the last two seasons.
