Report: Broken window at Vikings' new stadium may take 2 months to repair

The Minnesota Vikings' shiny new stadium is getting an unveiling of sorts this weekend, but not everything is perfect at the state-of-the-art facility.

Someone walking past the $1.1-billion stadium appears to have picked up a rock from a nearby rock garden and broken a window, according to Rochelle Olson of the Star Tribune.

He or she had a lot to aim at, as the bulk of U.S. Bank Stadium's exterior is made of glass.

And it's not the kind of glass you can head down to the hardware store to replace. A custom pane must be ordered and may not be installed for six to eight weeks, according to Olson.

Despite the mishap, the Vikings will go ahead with plans to formally cut the ribbon on their new home Friday. More than 100,000 visitors are expected to attend a free open hour beginning Saturday.
