Broncos' Williams: QB job is Sanchez's to lose

Denver Broncos defensive lineman Sylvester Williams says a clear leader will soon emerge in his team's starting quarterback battle.

Mark Sanchez, Trevor Siemian, and rookie Paxton Lynch are all in the mix, and it's the veteran whom Williams favors.

"Right now, they’re giving all three of those guys equal reps, so I don’t think either one of them has created any advantage at this point, because they haven’t consistently been with the ones yet," Williams told SiriusXM NFL Radio. "But I think, going into the camp, I think coach (Kubiak) kind of let us know he’s going to go with Mark and give Mark the opportunity to see what he can do and then go on from there."

Williams said he's not worried about the Super Bowl champions' offense despite losing Peyton Manning to retirement and Brock Osweiler in free agency.

"I think we’ve got one of the greatest offensive minds in coach Kub as the head man, so I think with him out there with the guys and everything, he’s going to stay on them tough,” Williams said. "I wouldn’t be surprised if he was in the meetings every day with them. I think we’re going to be alright at the quarterback position. But if I had to personally go with a guy and pick a guy that I thought would win the job, I think it will be Mark Sanchez."
