Steelers' Williams: I'm glad the Patriots have problems

If the New England Patriots are seeking sympathy for the loss of Tom Brady for the first four games of the regular season, Pittsburgh Steelers running back DeAngelo Williams isn't their man.

"I am glad they got problems. I don't care," Williams told Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "Everybody has their problems, and I am glad they have theirs."

After a decade-and-a-half of dominance, it was unlikely the Patriots would garner much empathy for their plight from their AFC rivals.

While the loss of Brady, who dropped his legal battle against his "Deflategate" suspension on Friday, presumably gives the rest of the conference hope of toppling New England, Williams doesn't understand why it should benefit his club.

"I don't know why everybody thinks that affects us," Williams said. "We don't care. You think Big Ben (Roethlisberger) wants to beat a Brady-less team? That proves nothing to him."

If the Patriots crumble without Brady, the Steelers could have one less roadblock en route to a top seed in the postseason. However, they won't directly benefit from the quarterback's suspension - Pittsburgh doesn't play the Patriots until Week 7 on Oct. 23.
