Bryant's accusations in lawsuit are 'lies,' says ex-financial adviser

Dez Bryant's former financial adviser, Royce West, has responded to the lawsuit the Dallas Cowboys receiver reportedly filed against him.

West, who is accused by Bryant of using him to "improperly line his own pockets and those of his business associates," plans to file a defamation suit against the receiver and his attorney.

Bryant's suit is a response to West's decision last month to sue the two-time Pro Bowler for the damage caused to his property in DeSoto, Texas, where Bryant lived for several years and West acts as a state senator.

"These allegation are lies and frivolous," West said in statement given to Clarence E. Hll of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "Mr. Bryant needs to take responsibility for the damage done to my house and not attempt to avert focus away from his actions by making incredulous accusations against me. I intend to file a defamation suit against Mr. Bryant and his attorney for these accusations."

An associate of West, David Wells, was also named in Bryant's suit. The two were part of a inner circle created by the Cowboys earlier in Bryant's career to make sure he stayed out of trouble.

Bryant alleges he's owed more than $200,000 from Wells from endorsement deals and $300,000 that West and his law firm took from him.
