Raiders' David Amerson: Four-year extension with Raiders
Amerson has agreed to a four-year, maximum $38 million extension with the Raiders, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.
Analysis:
Amerson was claimed off waivers from the Redskins only last September, so Friday's lucrative extension agreement is quite the development for the former second-round pick. To his credit, Amerson impressed with 58 tackles and four interceptions across 14 games for Oakland last season, and his 25 passes defensed ranked second league-wide. Now with his long-term future secured, the 24-year-old Amerson is expected to build on his 2015 breakthrough as the Raiders' starting cornerback opposite Sean Smith this season.
