49ers' Aaron Lynch: Suspended four games

Lynch has been suspended for the first four games of the regular season for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

Analysis:

Lynch slid to the fifth round of the 2014 Draft amid character concerns, but developed into of the league's best young outside linebackers by totaling 12.5 sacks over his first two seasons. Nonetheless, Lynch has now incurred his first NFL off-field slip-up, and will miss the first quarter of the regular season as a consequence. With Lynch suspended until San Francisco's Week 5 game against the Cardinals, the 49ers will be without their best pass rusher, and will instead have to look to Eli Harold and Corey Lemonier to fill snaps opposite Ahmad Brooks (undisclosed).
