Chiefs' Eric Berry: No extension agreement

Berry and the Chiefs will not reach agreement on a long-term extension ahead of Friday's deadline, NFL.com reports.

Analysis:

Berry will consequently earn $10.8 million this season while playing under Kansas City's franchise tag and become a free agent next offseason. After missing the entire 2014 season while fighting cancer, Berry incredibly returned last season to earn his fourth Pro Bowl selection. Not only that, but Berry played all 16 games and posted 61 tackes and two interceptions along the way. With the allure of a long-term contract looming, look for a motivated Berry to pick up where he left off this year.
