Johnny Manziel is a hard man to keep track of, but his Texas A&M coach is doing his best to stay in contact with the troubled quarterback.

"I have exchanged text messages with Johnny Manziel in the last two weeks," Kevin Sumlin said at SEC media days Tuesday, before noting he wouldn't reveal what the two have discussed.

"Bottom line, he's an Aggie. He'll always be an Aggie. At Texas A&M, we take care of each other."

Manziel, who was waived by the Cleveland Browns earlier in the offseason and is currently a free agent, hasn't been able to escape trouble for any extended period of time since his college days.

Manziel enjoyed an electric career with the Aggies and captured the Heisman Trophy at the end of the 2012 season. He's stayed loyal to Texas A&M through all his issues and frequently tweets his support for the program.

The pivot last made headlines for expressing amusement over his Browns jerseys being sold for $1.99 on a clearance rack.
