All indications continue to be that the Oakland Raiders and the city of Las Vegas are serious about the possibility of a future partnership.

The Southern Nevada Tourism Infrastructure Committee discussed nine potential sites for a stadium development in a special meeting held Monday, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN reports.

Among those under consideration are a 42-acre site owned by UNLV and located across the street from McCarran International Airport, a 100-plus acre site owned by the now-former UFC owners, the Fertitta family, and a 47-acre site where the recently demolished Riviera Hotel and Casino stood on the north end of the Las Vegas strip.

The cost for a potential 65,000-seat stadium in Las Vegas has previously been estimated at $1.4 billion. According to Gutierrez's report, though, the land acquisitions and retractable roof proposal could push that price up to $2.1 billion.

Raiders owner Mark Davis has said repeatedly that he'll consider any and all options in his ongoing search to find a long-term stadium solution for his franchise. While the possibility exists that the club could make a breakthrough in talks to remain in Oakland, there appears to be some significant momentum for relocation to Las Vegas.

The Raiders have played the past 21 seasons in the Bay Area after making the move back from Los Angeles in 1995.
