A successful run as the director of player personnel in Cincinnati has quietly made Duke Tobin one of the NFL's most sought-after front-office executives.

Though the success building a talented and sustainable roster has earned him consideration for general manager jobs, the 45-year-old is content to remain with the Bengals for the foreseeable future.

"When I came here in '99 ... I fully committed to the Bengals and wanted to be here long term," Tobin said in an interview with Dan Hoard on ESPN 1530.

"I wanted to make myself valuable to the club and make an entire career out of this and they gave me an opportunity to show that. There are very few organizations like the Cincinnati Bengals and people like the Browns and Blackburns to work for and it's just a really neat situation and I'm thankful for the opportunity that I have here. I really can't imagine wanting to be somewhere else and wanting to work for another team. Sure the challenges would be fun, but we have challenges here to work through that keep me occupied. I'm very happy to stay and be a part of it."

Tobin reportedly turned down interview requests from both the Tennessee Titans and Detroit Lions amid their respective general manager searches this past offseason.

Passing opportunities to take on more prominent roles would appear to indicate that Tobin is indeed serious about his commitment to the Bengals, but the offers likely won't stop rolling in any time soon.

Cincinnati has now qualified for the playoffs in six of the last seven seasons. Taking the next step and getting an ever-elusive postseason victory this year would only put Tobin's stock through the roof in the eyes of owners around the league.
