Raiders' Murray believes running game is team's strong suit

Oakland Raiders running back Latavius Murray believes his position group is the most lethal component of his team entering the 2016 season.

The Raiders are in the midst of a dream offseason, signing safety Reggie Nelson, cornerback Sean Smith, linebacker Bruce Irvin and offensive lineman Kelechi Osemele among others this summer. As a result of their excellent free agency haul, along with the accelerated development of third-year quarterback Derek Carr, some prognosticators believe the Raiders are the NFL's most improved team.

"Maybe I’m biased but I have to say the rushing attack," Murray said Friday on ESPN's "NFL Live". "I'm gonna have a big year this year, I'm working really hard. The offensive line’s been working hard, did some great things in the offseason, so just be aware of our rushing attack."

Murray rushed for 1,066 yards and six touchdowns last season and appears primed for another great season, running behind a clever, mauling offensive line.

"Those are some big boys,” Murray said about his offensive line earlier this summer. "Sometimes I kind of take it away because I am a big guy myself. I try to put myself in other guys’ shoes and that’s a big O-line, a big group of guys in front of me. I’m definitely excited to have them."

The Raiders are expected to make a serious push for their first playoff bid since 2002, and Murray's inwards confidence may be emblematic of the team holistically.
