Report: Cowboys' Lawrence has 4-game suspension upheld on appeal

Tim Heitman / USA TODAY Sports

The NFL has denied Dallas Cowboys defensive end Demarcus Lawrence's appeal of his four-game suspension, ESPN's Todd Archer reports.

Lawrence's suspension stems from a violation of the NFL's substance abuse policy.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones suggested earlier this year that he was hopeful the NFL would reduce Lawrence's suspension to two games, but apparently that won't happen.

With fellow defensive end Randy Gregory also suspended for four games, not to mention linebacker Rolando McClain's 10-game suspension, the Cowboys' front seven is looking very thin.
