Seahawks' Doug Baldwin: Inks extension with Seahawks
The Seahawks and Baldwin agreed to a four-year contract extension Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis:
Baldwin's calm demeanor throughout the process was noteworthy, and he'll now be paid handsomely to the tune of at least $11 million per season. The extension comes on the heels of a breakout in which he made 78 catches (on 103 targets) for 1,069 yards and 14 touchdowns. However, the majority of that production (47-724-12) was accumulated in the final eight games, as coordinator Darrell Bevell opened up the offense in the wake of a sieve-like O-line and injuries to Marshawn Lynch and Jimmy Graham (knee). Baldwin will be hard-pressed to replicate those numbers moving forward due to a lack of big plays (just three receptions of 40-plus yards) and 17 red-zone targets to his name in 2015. The rapport between Baldwin and Russell Wilson can't be denied, though, so another fruitful campaign isn't out of the question.
