At this stage, Foster's versatility (he was both a running back and receiver in college) gives him a shot at securing a roster spot with the Patriots, though a slot on the practice squad could be his destiny to start the 2016 season. Of course, Foster's chances of securing a role in the team's backfield would increase if Dion Lewis, who is bouncing back from an ACL injury, ends up on the PUP list to begin the upcoming campaign.
