Washington could be on the Patriots' roster bubble.

Analysis:

At this stage, health permitting, Julian Edelman, Danny Amendola, Chris Hogan and Malcolm Mitchell top the Patriots' wideout depth chart, with Washington slated to battle for depth slotting with Keshawn Martin, Aaron Dobson and Chris Harper. Whether the quartet ends up battling for just one spot (or more) depends on the team's injury situation, but for now, Washington has yet to gain much traction in the competition after reportedly seeming to struggle to get on the same page as QB Tom Brady during OTAs and minicamp. When he's on, Washington still has the ability to serve as a deep threat, but the veteran wideout will need to impress in training camp to land a roster spot with New England.
