After his retirement in March, it was unclear whether Peyton Manning would be excluded from the NFL's investigation of a recent Al Jazeera report claiming PED use by several of the league's stars.

League spokesman Brian McCarthy has informed Pro Football Talk that the ex-Denver Bronco and Indianapolis Colt will be a part of the investigation.

The NFL reportedly informed the NFLPA that interviews for those named in the report will take place on the first day of training camp, but McCarthy didn't include when or where the league will be speaking with Manning.

Others names in the report include Green Bay Packers linebackers Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers, Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison, and free-agent linebacker Mike Neal.

Manning's name wasn't included in the initial report because he is no longer a part of the players union after his retirement, but a source said at the time that an investigation was "progressing."

Christine Brennan of USA TODAY Sports reported in May that Manning did not intend to sue Al Jazeera over their claim that he used HGH, after the retired quarterback had adamantly denied the report.
