Former Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson insists he's content with his decision to retire from the NFL.

Johnson hung up his cleats for good recently after eight prolific seasons with the Lions, leading the league in receiving twice and earning six Pro Bowl selections.

"I'm not coming back, you don't have to worry about that," Johnson said to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.

Johnson caught 88 passes for 1,214 yards and nine touchdowns during his final season, and many believe "Megatron" can still play if he so desired. However, that's not the case.

"You're gonna be beat up. There's a time where you're content with what you did, and I'm content with what I did."

Johnson left the game holding many Lions franchise receiving records, and it may be difficult for some fans to process that he's gone for good when the 2016 season kicks off.
