Manning: I'll root for Broncos, Colts, Giants, Texans, Dolphins, Lions

Peyton Manning has a long list of teams he plans to root for now that he's retired and no longer committed to just one franchise.

At his passing academy Friday, Manning declared he will offer his allegiances as a fan to the Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts, New York Giants, Houston Texans, Miami Dolphins, and Detroit Lions this season, according to NFL.com's Conor Orr.

The first two teams on the list, the Broncos and Colts, make perfect sense. Those are the two teams Manning played for over his 18 seasons.

The Giants aren't a surprise, either, as Manning has never been shy about supporting younger brother Eli Manning's career.

After that, it gets a bit messy, but we can connect the dots.

The Texans signed Brock Osweiler this offseason, Manning's former backup (and, briefly, vice versa) in Denver. It makes sense Manning would wish Osweiler the best - or at least pretend to (there are whispers that their relationship was a little rocky at times).

The Dolphins have a new head coach, Adam Gase, who was Manning's offensive coordinator in Denver. By all accounts, Manning and Gase had a tremendous relationship. Manning even stopped by the Dolphins' facilities for a visit earlier this offseason.

Finally, the Lions are coached by Jim Caldwell, Manning's onetime head coach with the Colts. It makes sense they remain close.

So, Manning's many allegiances all make sense. He'll just need a robust cable package, and maybe half a dozen televisions, if he truly wants to be a fan of all these teams this season.
