San Francisco 49ers running back Carlos Hyde could be in line for a breakout campaign due to head coach Chip Kelly's preference of a one-back offense.

Kelly showed his desire to run his system through a featured back during his two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, giving LeSean McCoy 314 and 312 carries, respectively, in the 2013 and 2014 seasons.

Hyde, who is the favorite to earn the 49ers' starting role despite having his 2015 season cut short by injury, said Thursday that Kelly's offense will bring the best out of him.

"I definitely believe that his system will help showcase all my abilities," Hyde said on SiriusXM Radio, according to CSN Bay Area. "Not just as a ball carrier, but also as a threat in the passing game. So it's just, to me, this system is just a blessing in disguise. I'm really looking forward to this year. I'm very excited about this year. I think it's going to be an exciting year."

The high tempo and occasionally repetitive concepts of Kelly's offense were met with significant criticism toward the end of his Eagles tenure. However, Hyde said San Francisco's players are 100 percent behind what Kelly's attempting to install.

"I feel like the team has bought into his system," Hyde said. "Even though it's new to most guys, I'm kind of familiar with the system from college. But I definitely feel like everybody has bought into the system. And guys are just really looking forward this season. Guys are really looking forward to making a name for themselves."

Hyde was one pace for the first career 1,000-yard season before a foot injury forced the 49ers to place him on IR.
