Unless the Denver Broncos and star linebacker Von Miller agree to a contract extension before the July 15 deadline, the Super Bowl 50 MVP will play in 2016 under the franchise tag or be forced to sit out the entire season.

Despite the deadline looming, Miller said Wednesday at his charity football camp that all he can do is wait and hope.

"I just think, where we're at right now, everything has been said. Everything is already in the books right now," Miller told USA Today's Lindsay Jones. "It's just a time for waiting right now. I want all the focus to be on the kids today."

Like most high-profile contract standoffs, the Broncos and Miller have fought in the court of public opinion. Denver's six-year, $114.5-million contract offer that Miller reportedly turned down was leaked in early June, with the All-Pro appearing to respond by stating there was "no chance" he'd play under the tag this upcoming campaign.

The issue holding up the deal is reportedly the structure of the contract, with Miller looking for guaranteed money in the first three years of the extension. The Broncos are believed to only be offering guaranteed money in the first two years.
