Infamous Browns jersey retired after Cavs championship

ESPNNFL / Twitter

The owner of the extremely depressing Cleveland Browns jersey that features all 24 starting quarterbacks to play since 1999, has decided to retire the running joke after the Cavaliers brought the city its first championship in 52 years on Sunday.

"It's a new day in Cleveland," owner Tim Brokaw told Pat McManamon of ESPN. "We want to be a part of that."

The jersey, originally featuring No. 1 overall draft bust Tim Couch, was regularly displayed in the window of his advertising agency in Cleveland, but now features a blank slate and "Cleveland" where it used to say "Couch."

"The dark cloud," Brokaw said, "has been lifted."
